Narrative

Inner Alliance is a turn-based tactics tabletop game with a video game version in development. The player’s objective is to navigate a fictional but realistic future of climate crises as part of a first responder task force to assist in evacuation, aid, and civilian recovery efforts.

The game is designed to inspire deeper thinking and reflection on “gender-responsive leadership, inclusivity and team cohesion in defense and national security teams” (Wero Creative). Players are encouraged to consider how intersectionality in identity has an impact on how they respond to crisis situations, and how biases and perceived trust can inform treatment within teams and community outreach for vulnerable populations.

Bei presented at Toronto Games Week (2025) on behalf of the development team for the game.

What is Left to See (in development)

What is Left to See is a branching choice visual novel situated in the science fiction genre. You play as Harper, a person who has undergone life-saving genetic therapy to adapt to rising water levels that will flood Earth. As a selkie-like creature, Harper abruptly loses the ability to perceive their human skin after moving from water to land.

While determining how to stabilize their condition and discover its origin, they confront what it means to see the body they’re in as them – as home.

This story explores the experience of body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria, and how one may grapple with those intersecting experiences during times of political injustice and global crises. A branching narrative provides the player with paths that consider how individual experiences of wellness may be obfuscated over survival without community to support them.

This is a solo project being developed for a Q3 2026 release with a projected word count of over 100k for all branching paths.

This game is being developed using Ren’Py 8.5.2 and Twine Sugarcube v2.
